Padding or White space in Tableau

Padding can be applied to individual sheets which are used in a dashboard.

When you open the dashboard, you have two tabs on the left pane, 1) dashboard and 2) Layout tab,

From the Layout tab you can change the inner or outer padding for a sheet or viz used in the dashboard.

You can add space to one or more sides individually, or check the All sides equal box to add padding equally to all sides of an item.

For a more subtle effect, use Outer and Inner Padding to add white space to the area outside or inside an item’s border as shown below.
